Seymour & Bainbridge was appointed by Winchester College to carry out repairs and alterations to convert the College sick house to the new staff common room. The College Sick House, also known as Bethesda, is a Grade I Listed building dating from 1656 with an extension to the south added in 1775. The project started in September 2010 and included roof, chimney, timber frame and masonry repairs and conservation, renewing the mechanical and electrical services, upgrading the building to current Fire Regulation standards and improving thermal insulation. We also carried out alterations and decorations to convert the building to the staff common room with a new kitchen and servery, post room, IT room, meeting and work rooms and toilets.
